Item #13 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 17, 2002 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: David Michael Davis, City Librarian db <br />SUBJECT: Request for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment <br />to the Full Time Position of Library Clerk I in the Library Department <br />DATE: December 4, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is a need to fill one (1) Library Clerk I position in the Library Department. The salary <br />range is $1713 - $2082 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />This full-time position is currently vacant. Library Clerks check out books and other materials <br />to library customers and are essential to the basic operation of a library. Temporary agency <br />personnel are currently filling this position. Upon Council approval, recruitment for the <br />position of Library Clerk I will be conducted and an eligibility list established. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funding availability for this approved general fund position in the fiscal year 2001/2003 <br />budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6250-6250-1010 (salary) and Account No. <br />100-6250-6250-1100 (related benefits). <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: <br />As soon as possible. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment <br />to the full-time position of Library Clerk I as recommended by the City Librarian.
