CITY OF COLTON Item #11 <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 17, 2003 <br />TO: HON. MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Teresa S. Delgado, Human Resources Manager <br />SUBJECT: Approve and Adopt Proposed Resolution Amending R -69A-01 and Approving <br />the Executive Unit Memorandum of Understanding <br />DATE: June 9, 2003 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Resolution R -69A-01 (adopted 8/7/01) created a "Consolidated Compensation " document for the City's <br />Executive Unit and Resolution R-115-02 adopted 10/1/02 amended said document. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />On October 1, 2002, the City of Colton adopted Resolution No. R-115-02, which included the "Summary <br />of Changes" for the Executive/Confidential Unit. The changes have been incorporated into the existing <br />"Consolidated Compensation" document which has been renamed for the purpose of clarification, as the <br />"Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Colton and the Executive Unit". The proposed <br />document will bring together all of the terms and conditions applicable to the Executive Unit. <br />There have been changes because of the City's restructure and it is proposed that the following positions <br />be added to the Executive Unit: Community Services Director, Library Manager and Community <br />Projects Manager. Additionally, there will be deletion of the following positions presently listed under <br />Executive Unit: Parks, Recreation and Family Services Director position, and the Assistant to the City <br />Manager position. The City Librarian will be retiring on August 27, 2003 and the position of City <br />Librarian will be deleted from the Executive Unit effective upon his retirement. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />There is no environmental impact. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no fiscal impact by this action. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the Members of the City Council approve and adopt the proposed resolution <br />amending the "Consolidated Compensation" document for the Executive Unit and renaming said <br />document to "The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Colton and the Executive Unit". <br />Att: (1) <br />City Attorney: L Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: <br />
