AS <br />THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER. <br />DATE: <br />MAY 12, 2003 <br />In July of 2001, the City of Colton approved an agreement with FHJ General Parinership, Cutting <br />Edge Supply, Inc. for the exchange of rivo parcels of land. The City's parcel had been used as a <br />pazking lot for the Veteran's Pazk ball field with access off of Congress Street. The Cutting Edge <br />parcel is to become a new City parking lot adjacent to the field on the north and Congress Street to <br />the south. <br />The scope of work of the project includes the construction of 3" thick A.C. pavement, 3' wide <br />concrete inverted gutter, 6" concrete curb, and 4" dia. PVC drainage system with 24"x24" grate <br />inlet catch basin. <br />On April 15, 2003, the City Counci] authorized the request to solicit public bids for this project. <br />The advertisement for public bidding began on April 21, 2003 and the bid opening was conducted <br />on May 12, 2003. Staff received formal proposals from four (4) firms, with their corresponding bid <br />amoimt as follows: <br />L Hardy and Harper, Inc. $ 86,252.00 <br />2. 4-Con Engineenng, Inc. $ 90,956.00 <br />3. Tyner Paving Company $ 93,420.00 <br />4. Matich Corporation $ 114,411.00 <br />
