Item #13 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF November 16, 2004 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: Amer Jakher, P.E., City Engineer SUBJECT: Approve resolution to increase the FY 2004/2005 CIP Budget for the South La Cadena Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Project, in the amount of $58,438.12. DATE: November 9, 2004 BACKGROUND: The South La Cadena Project was originally budgeted at $100,000 of Host City Funds and is currently ongoing. Since this project has originally been budgeted the sidewalk has been installed and existing asphalt was removed to allow for overlay of the La Cadena Avenue, south of Barton Road. Currently, sidewalk is being installed along the west side of La Cadena Drive and completion is anticipated by the end of November. The available funding will not be sufficient to beautify this portion of La Cadena Drive. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: The increased budget will allow the City to provide beautification along La Cadena Drive. The anticipated beautification will include the installation of stamped concrete as well as landscaping along S. La Cadena Drive, south of Barton Road. The City will also use the increased budget for this Project to install curb, gutter and sidewalk along Bostic Avenue and Litton Avenue. Street and Parks Crews can be utilized in providing these additional improvements. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The increase in the Project's budget, $58,438.12, will decrease the budget available in the CIP account set up for District 6 100-1000-1270-3890 and be transferred to account 457-6625- 6700-3890. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The proposed public improvements are exempt under CEQA Section 15301 (c) — Repairs of existing highways and streets. CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Not Applicable. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approving the attached resolution increasing FY 2004/2005 CIP Budget of the South La Cadena Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Project by $58,438.12. 7/10/03 City Clerk's Office Cb
