Item #24
City of Colton 3124/05
650 N. La Cadena Drive
Colton, CA 92324
Re: HorneOwncr 1065 N. Rancho Ave. Colton
Dear Darryl Parrish:
I am writing at this -time to make you aware of a current problem regarding a customer service
worker and the intrusive behavior towards my mother, a homeowner in the City of Colton, in
handling a sinWle matter.
First, I would like to be placed on the next council agenda to make the public aware of this
situation, because your customer service personel ordered a shut off of utilities even though the bill
been paid for the last 14 years. I would believe that the City would be people friendly and welcome
all solutions to be handled in a marmeT favorable for all parties.
Second, when I called Customer Service the previous day to handle the matter, I was told all we
had to bring was the Death Certificate and the Homeowner ( my mother ). We got more than a share
intrusive and unprofessional behavior as the inquiry to the matter went fiuther. MT Parrish, 3 5 years
ago my mother filled out a written application with all necessary information regarding both parties
and should be on file downstairs in basement, unless it was purged.
Finally, I asked for a standard written guideline regarding the name transfer upon death of a
spouse or former spouse, and your staff couldn't produce one. I am beginning to wonder if your
customer service are making up the rules as they go alon& Therefore, I need to make the Council
aware because ofthe shutoff action on the 3 Ist by your staff even though the hill is being paid.
Thank you for your interest in this matter and along with this letter is a copy of a letter furnished to
the council on 3/23105 for your information as well.
Respectfully
4'r4' f"'e' ;edw"
Arthur Ramos
CIC all Members of Colton Council
