Item #12
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 15, 2005
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: AMER JAKHER P.E., CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: NOTICE OF STREET NAME CHANGE OF LARCH AVENUE TO
MIRACLE LANE
DATE: JANUARY 24, 2005
BACKGROUND:
Larch Avenue between Colton Avenue and Ivy Avenue was changed by Council action on
September 19, 1999. This portion of Larch Avenue was renamed Healing Waters Street. San
Bernardino County has not processed this name change, thus while City records show this portion
of Larch Avenue as Healing Waters the County records do not. Subsequently, a petition was
received by the City from residents requesting that the name be changed to Healing Waters or
Miracle Lane. The Traffic Committee has considered the request for name change and
recommends the name to be Miracle Lane.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Section 5026 of the State of California Streets and Highways Code requires a resolution of the
City Council and notice provided to the Clerk of the County Board of Supervisors and the County
Surveyor to change the name of a street.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This project is exempt under Section 15301(f) of the California Environmental Quality Act.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Not Applicable.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council authorize the street name change of Larch Avenue to Miracle
Lane.
