ITEM #13 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF June 21, 2005 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Bill Smith - Community Services Directo� <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval of Permit Request for Use of Fleming Park for <br />Unity of Love Ministries, Outreach Concert, on Saturday, August 6, <br />2006,11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />DATE: June 13, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Unity of Love Ministries, Inc. has submitted a request to use Fleming Park and its bandshell <br />for an outreach concert on Saturday, August 6, 2005. The event is scheduled to proceed from <br />11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., including set-up and clean-up. <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: <br />Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully <br />hosted such events previously, by the same applicant. Expected attendance is estimated at <br />approximately 120 people, including adults, teens and children. A facility reservation application <br />has been submitted by the group, and a copy has been attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. The applicant will <br />be charged the standard facility usage fee of $25. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST; <br />Unity of Love Ministries <br />Contact: Jon Battles, (909) 882-2712 <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from Unity of Love Ministries, <br />for an outreach concert, to be held at Fleming Park on Saturday, August 6, 2005.
