Immediately following the event, a memorial
ceremony and presentation is proposed at Fleming Park, from approximately 11:00 a.m.
to 1:00 P.M.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m., and all events are scheduled to conclude by
approximately 1:00 p.m. This has been an annual event in Colton, and Fleming Park has
served as an excellent location for the ceremony in previous years. Expected attendance
is estimated at approximately 500 people, including adults, teens and children. A facility
reservation application has been submitted by the group, and a copy has been attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City will provide staff support for the event.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST;
Colton American Legion
Contact: Frank Granado
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends City Council approval of the use of Fleming Park by the Colton
American Legion, Post #155 on Friday, November 11, 2005. Staff also recommends that
this approval be contingent upon the user group providing proof of liability insurance, as
well as a cleaning deposit, to protect the City.
Attachment
