ITEM #18 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 2005 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E. , PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION REQUEST TO SOLICIT PUBLIC BIDS FOR CDBG PROJECT #104-31105/2765, #104-31205/2766, AND #104- 31305/2767. DATE: OCTOBER 24, 2005 BACKGROUND: The CDBG Project 4104-31105/2765, #104-31205/2766, and #104-31305/2767 are part of the CIP (Capital Improvement Program) Projects scheduled for construction for FY 05-06. The scope of work for CDBG Project #104-31105/2765 and #104-31305/2767 is: construction (fill- in) of missing concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and handicap ramp. Streets that will be improved by project #104-31105/2765 are Redlands Ave., Lemon St., Rialto Ave., Laurel Ave., 10th St., 12t" St., and B St. (see exhibit A for approximate limit of works). Project #104-31305/2767 includes Olive St., 9' St., 10' St., Boardwell Ave. and La Cadena Dr (see exhibit A for approximate limit of works). CDBG Project #104-31205/2766 scope of work includes: asphalt pavement reconstruction, installation of concrete gutter, and replacement of damaged concrete curb and cross gutter. The streets correspondent to the project are Pine St., Kirk St., Ash St., Berry St., Cedar St., and Congress St. (see exhibit A for approximate limit of works). ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: Public Works Department staff are preparing plans and specification of the project in-house. These CDBG projects are expected to be ready for the bidding process by mid of November 2005. Each project has the following funding: Project #104-31105/2765 (Redlands, Rialto, Laurel, etc.) $156,630 Project #104-31205/2766 (Pine, Kirk, Ash, Berry, Cedar, Congress) $329,000 Project #104-31305/2767 (Olive, 9th, 10th, Boardwel'l, La Cadena) $ 32,370
