CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 2005 <br />TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND UTILITY AUTHORITY MEMBERS <br />FROM: ERIC R. FRASER, DIRECTOR OF WATER & WASTEWATER OPERATIONS <br />SUBJECT: NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, RIVERSIDE AVE SEWER, <br />LIFT STATION, AND FORCEMAIN PROJECT. <br />DATE: October 24, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On December 7, 2004 the City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $1,335,300.00 to <br />SoCal Pacific Construction Corporation to construct gravity sewer main and sewer force main <br />within Riverside Avenue and a sewer lift station within APN 0260-091-51 to provide sewer service <br />to commercial businesses in the area. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Contractor has substantially completed the project as specified in the contract as of <br />September 27, 2005. Upon recordation of the notice of substantial completion, the City will <br />authorize the release of the 10% retention less any amounts in dispute (i.e. the value of any <br />outstanding work items, monies withheld pursuant to stop notices on file with the City, and <br />liquidated damages), which shall be released upon recordation of the notice of completion. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Sufficient funds are available in Capital Improvement Account, Number 521-8200-8206-3890- <br />0000-000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements <br />Exact Business Name: SoCal Pacific Construction Corporation <br />President or Equal: Anton Anstett, President <br />Contact: Anton Anstett, President <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the notice of substantial completion of the <br />Riverside Avenue Wastewater Facilities Project in order to release retention less any amounts in <br />dispute. <br />Prepared by: Eric Fraser, Director of Water and Wastewater <br />Attachments: Notice of Substantial Completion <br />
