CITY OF COLTON <br />COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 8, 2005 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, a Special Meeting was held on the above given date <br />at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, with Mayor Bennett presiding. <br />CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL <br />Councilmembers present were, Suchil, Mitchell, Ramos, Hernandez and Mayor Bennett. <br />Councilmembers De to Rosa and Chastain absent. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />None <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Authorization to Hire Special Legal Counsel <br />City Manager Parrish requested direction and authorization from the Council as it relates to the <br />regional park that involves the La Sierra Water District, at this time, BB & K has a conflict as the firm <br />also represent regional park and as a share holder with La Sierra Water District. Because other local <br />legal firms also are involved in representing the individuals named it was necessary to search out of the <br />area and staff has found a firm, McDonough, Holland & Allen, Attorneys at Law, located in Sacramento. <br />Legal counsel acknowledges this firm would provide good representation for the city and the fees will <br />be within the direction by Council. In addition because BB&K has to conflict out regarding Plaza Las <br />Gloria's issues, staff is also requesting this firm to represent the city in resolving related legal matters. <br />CM Mitchell and CM Hernandez spoke in favor of the request. <br />Motion/second by CM Mitchell/Suchil to approve staff's recommendation. Motion carried with CM De <br />La Rosa and CM Chastain absent. <br />Electric Utility Long Range Plan <br />Electric Utilities Manager Jeannette Olko presented and reviewed in detail the Colton Electric Utility <br />Business Plan using both Power Point presentation and information from the Handbook. <br />At 5:44 p.m., Mayor Bennett left the dais and Mayor Pro Tempore Ramos conducted the balance of the <br />meeting. At 6:15 p.m. CM Hernandez left the dais. <br />ADJClURNMENT. <br />At 6:42 p.m., with consensus of Council, Mayor Pro Tempore Ramos declared the Special Meeting <br />adjourned. <br />Carolina P.
