SUB SECTION 2A TO <br />SECTION 500 OF ORDINANCE NOa 9640 TO <br />PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF PATIO <br />COVERS WHICH WOULD BE ALLOWED TO <br />ENCROACH INTO THE REQUIRED REAR YARD <br />OF A RESIDENTIAL ZONEa <br />THE CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1.. That Sub Section 2A be added to Section 500 of the Colton <br />Zoning Ordinance No. 964 to read as follows: <br />Sub Section 2A. <br />Canopies or roofs attached to the main building or canopies or roofs <br />connecting the main buildings with an accessory building may extend into a re- <br />quired <br />e-quired rear yard; provided: <br />a. That such structures are not more than one story in height and are <br />erected not closer than five feet to any rear or interior side lot line, <br />b. That such structures are unenclosed on at least three sides and are <br />entirely open, except for necessary supporting columns; provided however, that <br />a roof connecting the main building and the accessory building shall be unen- <br />closed and open on only two sides. <br />c. That the horizontal area of any such structure alone shall not exceed <br />twentyfive per cent of the required rear yard area and the horizontal area of <br />any two or more in combination, including a�_,cessory buildings, shall not <br />exceed forty per. cent of the required rear yard area. <br />d.
