I !i In order to protect public health•,•safety and promote orderlyl 7 growth and development of the City, the .proper use of land, the s 'I conservation, stablization, and protection ''of the use value of ii property; and the adequate provision for necessary utilities and conveniences; the City Council of the City.. of •Colton does ordain as follows : x•10 ARTICLE I 12 AUTHORITY - 13 Section 100: AUTHORITY. 14 li 15 1� Pursuant to the "Subdivision Map Act." of the State of i 15i California, the provisions of this ordinanceare supplemental to 17 I those of said Act, and shall apply to all. subdivisions of land 181 hereafter made when said land is entirely,• 'or. partly, within the 19 i' :!limits of the City of Colton, and all terms and provisions herein 20 it used which are contained in the said "Subdivision Map Act" shall i have the same meaning as ascribed thereto , in the said Act, . and as 22 ;said Act may hereafter be amended and as it may pertain to.any 23 :'provisions contained herein. In all cases where any conflict or 24 i 25 ambiguity arises, the "Subdivision Map Act" shall govern, The 261 Colton City Planning Commission is hereby designated as the "advi- I 27 11 sory agency" referred to in said Act, and is. charged with the duty 28 i,iof making investigations and reports on the design and improvement 29 of proposed subdivisions; and is hereby authorized to approve, con - 30 Y 31' ditionally approve or disapprove tentative maps'of subdivisions ';prepared and filed according to this ordinance and said 32 i • I I I I 1
