CITY OF COLTONn` <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of APRIL 3, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: JERRY YOUNG, CITY MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT REOGRANIZATION Date: MARCH 29, 1990 <br />The Administrative Services Department is currently comprised of the following activities: <br />Administration <br />Human Resources <br />Accounting <br />Customer Services <br />General Services <br />Data Processing <br />I feel the following would better fulfill the needs of the City: <br />1. Remove the Human Resources Division and place it under the direct control of <br />the City Manager's Office (as it was prior to 1986). <br />2. Eliminate the position of Assistant City Manager (now vacant). <br />3. Reestablish the position of Finance Director in lieu of Assistant City <br />Manager. <br />4. Reestablish the position of Assistant Finance Director in lieu of the <br />Financial Services Manager. <br />5. Reestablish the position of Human Resources Director (formerly titled <br />Personnel Director) in lieu of Human Resources Manager. <br />This would result in a net savings of approximately $7,000 per year. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The City manager be authorized to implement the above recommendations together with the <br />implementation of attached Resolution. <br />JY/bjw <br />Attachments: Resolution <br />Job Descriptions <br />Page 1 of 9 - — <br />Item No. <br />CERITRAL RECORDS <br />
