Gemmell, Fire Chief <br />SUBJECT: FIRE SPRINKLER PLAN CHECKS <br />Date: July 23, 1990 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Fire Department has had Council approval to send fire <br />sprinkler plans to Marsh and McLennan for approval. <br />STATEMENT OF PROBLEM <br />As of July 1, 1990, this company will no longer be in the fire <br />sprinkler plan check business. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Division Chief DEWAYNE HUDSON has interviewed three companies <br />that check fire sprinkler plans. <br />RICK GRAHAM SPRINKLER REVIEW, 242 Orange Ave., Suite 104, <br />Brea, California 92621 <br />CAL -WEST FIRE CONSULTING SERVICES, 1142 Manhatton Ave., <br />Suite 160, Manhattan Beach, California 90266 <br />TOMES VAN RICKLEY AND ASSOCIATES, 3333 Midway Drive, Suite <br />203, San Diego, California 92110 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />None, the cost will be paid by the developer or owner. I do <br />recommend an administrative -fee of 10,)6 - <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />After interviewing all three companies, staff would like to <br />recommend Council approval to send sprinkler plans to TOMES VAN <br />RICKLEY AND ASSOCIATES for plan check.
