CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of August 21, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: EDMUND SOTELO, CITY MANAGER,,,,�'j,, '" <br />SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO THE PAY AND CLASSIFICATION Date: 8-14-90 <br />PLAN FOR SANITATION SUPERVISOR <br />BACKGROUND <br />Raul Arciero and the San Bernardino Public Employees Association <br />requested a reclassification study of the position of Sanitation <br />Leadworker. <br />Mr. Arciero completed the Position Classification Questionnaire. The <br />Questionnaire was reviewed by Rudy Chavez, Sanitation Superintendent <br />and John Hutton, Public Works Director. The Superintendent and <br />Director generally concurred with the duty statements. <br />OF THE PROBLEM <br />Based on the written materials and interviews with the employee and <br />superintendent, staff found that the Sanitation Leadworker is clearly <br />performing significantly different and more responsible duties than <br />those described in his present job specifications. The level of <br />duties is more comparable to those of a supervisor. <br />Staff has prepared a new job description to include the additional <br />duties, responsibilities and skill. <br />Council may approve or not approve the reclassification. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The new classification is recommended at salary range 29.0 in the <br />General Unit.
