KEANE, City Manage <br />il <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Various Transformers to Date: February 13, 1991 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of $15,712.25 <br />and Cooper Power Systems in the Amount of $24,208.01 <br />On January 25, 1990, we advertised for quotations for various trans- <br />formers for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held February 13, <br />1990, at 2:30 p.m., in the General Services office. Four bids were <br />received and evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for <br />each recommended vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations <br />supplied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by <br />the vendor. The results of this evaluation determine the recommend- <br />ed vendor. The lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is under- <br />lined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Items 1 & 2 to Pauwels <br />Transformers in the amount of $15,712.25 and on Items 3-7 to Cooper <br />Power Systems in the amount of $24,208.01. <br />Report Prepared by: M.
