SOTELO, CITY MANAGER-49AR ro"% <br />SUBJECT: DIRECTOR OF PARKS, RECREATION AND <br />HUMAN SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND <br />Date: 6/28/90 <br />On May 15, 1990 Council adopted Resolution R-48-90 affording benefits <br />to the City's executive employees and Resolution R-49-90 establish- <br />ing a pay and classification plan for the employees of the City. <br />The Director of Parks, Recreation and Human Services was not <br />included. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />The position of Director of Parks, Recreation and Human Services <br />was not included when the above mentioned resolutions were passed. <br />Before the recruitment process can begin, these resolutions must <br />be amended to include the position. <br />As part of the City Manager's proposed reorganization of City depart- <br />ments, the Parks Division will be relocated into the Parks, Recreation <br />and Human Services Department and report directly to the Director <br />of Parks, Recreation and Human Services. This action is being <br />proposed to provide a direct response to maintenance and new con- <br />struction requirements for the department.
