Hutton, Director of Public Works#�� <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Agreement with Mr. & Mrs. Pope Date: March 26, 1991 <br />to Construct Off-site Improvements <br />PtArW 'PrY 1Nr1 e <br />As part of the conditions of approval for a building permit for Mr. and Mrs. Pope, <br />off-site improvements (i.e., curb, gutter, sidewalk and matchup paving) was required. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />Mr. and Mrs. Pope had installed by a contractor, the curb, gutter and sidewalk, but <br />upon completion of these items, the contractor reneged on the remainder of the <br />improvements (matchup paving). <br />Mr. and Mrs. Pope wants to complete the off-site improvements, but due to the fact <br />that the contractor squandered the remaining funds to complete the work, Mr. and <br />Mrs. Pope were left with insufficient funds to complete the paving work. Mr, and <br />Mrs. Pope are requesting that the City consider completing the paving work, which <br />they will pay for with installment payments over the next year. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT; <br />Total estimated cost for paving work by City forces would be $2,448. Mr. and Mrs. <br />Pope will pay $1,200 up front and pay 12 monthly payments of $104/mo. <br />ENV I %ONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECCNt EMAT ION : <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the attached off-site improvement agreement <br />for the completion of paving work due to the property owners inability to finance <br />the completion of the work in one lump sum.
