3_ CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of February_5 1 991 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: EDMUND F. SOTELO; City Manage <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date: January 28, 1991 <br />Cooper Power Systems, Inc, in the Amount <br />of $4,739.25 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory on an <br />as required basis. The quantity and sizes are projected by the City <br />Electrical Engineer as plans are submitted for new development and <br />replacement transformers are needed. <br />on January 10, 1991, General Services advertised for sealed bids for <br />some of these requirements. Bid opening was held at 3:30 p.m., January <br />24, 1991, in the General Services office. Four bids were received and <br />evaluated. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />None <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing price and delivery -quoted by each <br />vendor, with.the recommended vendor's price underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total of bid award is listed at the bottom for each vendor. <br />Also attached, is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was done on <br />the computer_. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied <br />by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. <br />The result of this evaluation determines the recommended vendor.
