TO: HONORABLE MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL
FOR: Council Meeting of 2 July 1991
FROM: Jaime R. Aauilera. Director of Community Development
SUBJECT: Initiation of proceedings for the annexation of Peppertree Lane in Reche
Canyon (LAFCO 2681).
E
BACKGROUND:
As requested by the Public Works Department, the Community Development Department N
submitted an application with the Local Agency Formation Commission on the 12th of
June, 1991, requesting the annexation of a portion of Peppertree Lane in Reche Canyon
be annexed to the City. The portion to be annexed is a public road dedicated to the City,
serving as access to a recently annexed residential tract, TT 14366, and other single family
dwellings located within the City's sphere.
The general location of Peppertree Lane is along Reche Canyon Road, perpendicular to
it, about a mile south of Washington Street. A
ANALYSIS:
The City has been dedicated a portion of a street which is in the County of San Bernardino. p
In order to better serve the area, the entire street should be within the corporate boundary 1"1
of the City of Colton.
RECOMMENDATION: E
Since the road has been dedicated to the City, and will serve as access to residences
located within the City, staff recommends approval of Resolution No. R- -91, initiating the
proceedings for LAFCO 2681.
