Drews, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: POWER SALE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CENTURY <br />POWER CORPORATION AND THE CITY OF COLTON <br />Date: 7/10/91 <br />BACKGROUND By mutual agreement of the participants the Power Sale <br />Agreement between California Department of Water Resources (CDWR) and <br />the City was terminated as of April 30, 1991. The 1990 IOA with SCE <br />provides for a one-time replacement of this agreement. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM CDWR was unable to supply enough energy at <br />a resonable rate to make it economic for the City to continue with <br />purchases. <br />ALTERNATIVES Replace the resource with another supplier. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT At 75% capacity factor the Century Power costs are <br />approximately 200 less than the proposed costs from CDWR during its <br />first year. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT None <br />RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends Council approve the Power Sales <br />Agreement with Century Power Corporation and designates the Electric <br />Utility Director to sign all necessary agreements to bring the <br />capacity and energy into the City's electrical system. <br />Agreement is on file in City Clerk's office for your review. <br />CONCURRENCE <br />Attachments: <br />_A5�� <br />Leslie Stratton <br />Interim City Manager <br />Page 1 of I Item No. / � <br />
