CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of April 7, 1992 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />tc N <br />FROM: Ken Herron, Parks, Recreation and Human Services Director <br />SUBJECT: Cinco de Mayo Celebration Date: April 2, 1992 <br />The Parks, Recreation and Human Services Department of the City of Colton, in <br />conjunction with the Gents Organization, will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo <br />Celebration on Saturday, May 2, 1992 at the Colton Municipal Park. Preceeding the <br />Celebration will be the annual Queen Contest on Friday, May 1, 1992 at Fleming <br />Park. The successful contestant will reign over the celebration on the following <br />day. The following is a itinerary of events: <br />Friday, May 1, 1992 - Queen Contest from 7:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. at Fleming Park. <br />Saturday, May 2, 1992 - Festival activities in Municipal Park from 12:00 p.m. to <br />9:00 p.m. to include the following: <br />- Three stages of ongoing entertainment <br />- Bingo <br />- Local radio stations will be conducting continuous live broadcasts from the <br />park <br />- Teen Dance <br />- Adult live entertainment <br />- Food booths from charitable organizations from throughout the community will <br />be set up within the east tennis courts area <br />A beer Garden, sponsored and supervised by the Gents Organization will be set up <br />within the park property owned by the City on Carreon Drive. <br />DISCUSSION <br />FINANCIAL RVACT <br />Please note on the attached proposed budget that this year's event has been <br />scaled down from last year and results in a nearly $10,000.00 reduction in cost. <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of 3 Item No. <br />
