ACEVEDO, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Request for Proposal to Provide Date: November 23, 1992 <br />Electronic Meter Reading System for the Electric Dept. <br />to Syscon Corporation in the Amount of $26,209.63. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Electric Department has a requirement for an electonic meter <br />reading system in the FY 92/93 budget. <br />On October 6, 1992, the City prepared a Request for Proposal for <br />an electronic meter reading system. The proposals were to be <br />returned by October 22, 1992. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Two proposals were received and evaluated. The lower quote was <br />received from Syscon Corporation in the amount of $26,209.63. The <br />other proposal was received from Or Com Systems in the amount of <br />$87,293.66, plus freight and three round-trip airfares for training. <br />Both proposals meet the requirements of the City. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends this requirement be awarded to Syscon Corporation <br />in the amount of $26,209.63. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
