Aguilera, Director of Community Development G SUBJECT: Transfer Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from Computerized Mapping Project to South La Cadena Beautification Project. E BACKGROUND: Several months ago, the San Bernardino County Department of Economic and Community N Development advised the City to close out the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded Computerized Mapping project because they (the County) had overspent CDBG funds in the Administrative category of the Block Grant and now had to balance the total Administrative expenditures by cutting out Administrative cost items, of which the Computerized Mapping project was categorized as being. The City was told that the funds could be re -programmed into other eligible projects, including Capital Improvements. FINANCIAL IMPACT: A Community Development Block Grant funding was previously approved by City Council for the South La Cadena Beautification Project. Engineering has been completed for this and Phase One is ready to begin construction. The estimated cost for this is $622,889.00. There is approximately $160,000.00 remaining in the project budget. The amount of funds being requested for transfer into this project from the Computerized Mapping project is R $146,359.58. That would bring the total available for construction to $306,359.58. Other funds are being sought by the Public Works Department, including the San Bernardino County's Host City fee, which is approximately $731,337.00. The combined total would be enough to fund Phases One and Three of the Beautification project. E Staff recommends the transfer of CDBG funds from the Mapping project to the South La Cadena Beautification project. P RECOMMENDATION: If City Council concurs with Staff's recommendation, a motion to adopt the attached O Resolution, authorizing the transfer of Community Development Block Grant funds from the Computerized Mapping project to the South La Cadena Beautification project, in the amount of $146,359.58, would be in order.
