CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of January 7, 1992 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public WorkOeof <br />SUBJECT: Authorization for Staff to Negotiate Sa Date: December 11, 1991 <br />Surplus Water Land <br />Several years ago, the City of Colton Public Works/Water purchased land in the City <br />of San Bernardino for development of water projects (i.e., wells, booster stations, <br />reservoir sites). <br />nT r,('I IAS TnN] - <br />Robert Lavin, Water Utilities Manager, has been approached by Young Homes about <br />purchasing three lots located in the City of San Bernardino and owned by the City <br />of Colton Public Works/Water. An appraisal for the land has been obtained. <br />The lots are surplus property which the City pays taxes and weed abatement charges <br />on. The previous Water Master Plan and the new one do not designate the land for <br />future use. Two lots are located on Mill Street and one on Chestnut Street, there <br />are no Colton water mains nor booster stations within the area for the development <br />of water wells. Mr. Lavin is recommending that the lots be sold. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The revenue from the sale of the lots will be appropriated to the Water Utility <br />account. <br />RECCM`VENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council authorize Robert Lavin and John Hutton to negotiate <br />for the sale of the three Water lots, and to present the final offer to Council for <br />its approval. <br />/lj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURREN <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of <br />Item No. <br />CENTRAL kEIrC RDS <br />FILE NO. ................. <br />
