Hutton, Director of Public Works 6"Y <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Change Order #1 for Emergency Well Date : December 26, 1991 <br />Repair to Well #14 in the Amount of $2,350.00 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On November 5, 1991 Council approved emergency repairs to Well #14 in the amount of <br />$24,926.00. The well services the West End of the City. <br />nT SC:I 1SS TON <br />Tri County Equipment and Repair began repair work on the well. On December 19, they <br />informed staff that there is an obstruction within the well at 366'. This obstruction <br />is preventing the removal of the damaged liner. The cost for video logging the well <br />at 366' is $750.00 and the estimated cost for removal of the obstruction is $1,600.00. <br />Repairs on the well cannot continue until the obstruction is removed and the well <br />is needed in order to provide adequate drinking water and fire flow. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Repairs to water infrastructure will be included in the Water Utility budget, which <br />will be presented to Council in early February. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recomfnends that Council approve change order #1 in the amount of $2,350.00 for <br />Well #14. <br />/lj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENC r <br />Attachments: 2 <br />Page 1 of <br />Item No. <br />GEN'TRAL RE -CORDS <br />FILE N0...J� q-�------------------ 22- <br />
