CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For Council Meeting of January 7, 1992 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Richard E. Acevedo, Finance Direc or SUBJECT: Award of Bid for a 160 Cubic Foot per Minute Date: December 24, 1991 Air Compressor to ADCO Equipment Supply, Inc. in the Amount of $12,707.66. BACKGROUND: The Electric Department has an air compressor approved in the Fiscal Year 1991/92 budget. There were also some equipment items that were to be obtained along with the air compressor. These items were a pavement breaker, clay digger, chipping hammer and backfill tamper. General Services advertised for quotations on December 12, 1991. Bid opening was held at 2:30 P.M., December 23, 1991 in the General Services office. DISCUSSION: We only received one bid on this requirement and that was from ADCO Equipment Supply, Inc. Calls were made to other equip- ment companies to determine why they did not bid. Their answer was that they did not want to provide a bid security. It was determined from the calls that the price quoted by ADCO was a competitive price for the compressor and associated equipment.
