CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of July 21, 1992 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Helen A. Ramos, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: CANVASS OF SEPTEMBER 15, 1992 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City Council has called a Special Municipal Election for September 15, 1992. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The Special Municipal Election will be City-wide and is not consolidated with any <br />County conducted election; therefore, the City Clerk's office will conduct all election <br />proceedings. California Elections Code Section 22932.5 provides that the City <br />Council may, by resolution, order the City Clerk to canvass of the election. Sections <br />17082 and 17083 of the Elections Code govern the conduct of the canvass, which <br />is to be completed prior to the first Tuesday after the election. <br />Staff has prepared the attached resolution for City Council consideration. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends adoption of the attached resolution, ordering the Canvass of the <br />September 15, 1992, Special Election be made by the City Clerk. <br />City Manager's C c rr ce: <br />
