ffel
FROM
SUBJECT
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
oc-Vh-e-
For Council Meeting of 20, 1992
Honorable Cou cil Members
Mayor Fran Gonzales
November Ballot Propositions 162, 165 and
167
The November ballot contains three propositions that will have a
definite impact in our future and the future of this city and state.
I have carefully reviewed them and respectfully request adoption of
my recommendations thereof.
Proposition 162, the Pension Protection Act, would prevent future
raids on PERS retirement fund and restore actuary power to the
PERS Board.
My recommendation is a YES vote on Proposition 162.
Proposition 165, the Wilson Initiative, would shift massive budgetary
powers to the present or any future governor. It would allow the
slash funds for low-income mothers and children by up to 25%.
A NQ vote is recommended.
Proposition, the Tax the Rich Initiative, would repeal governor's
recent tax increases upon the middle class and raise additional
monies to save public services by closing corporate tax loopholes.
Your favorable consideration on my recommendation for a YES vote
on Proposition 167 is respectfully requested.
I would like us to come together as representatives of our city and
adopt these recommendations. Thank you.
FG:mer
Attachments:
Page t of__—_
Item No.
