CLOUD <br />Interim Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Steel Poles and Anchor Bolts for the New Substation to Valmont Industries, <br />Inc., in the Amount of $79,957.00. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City's Electric Department has a requirement to purchase four steel distribution poles with anchor bolts <br />for the first phase of the new substation transmission system. On July 1, 1994, General Services advertised <br />for sealed bids for this requirement. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., July 18, 1994, in the General Services <br />office. One bid was received from Valmont Industries, Inc. and has been evaluated. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This project was approved by Council and will be funded by the eventual sale of long term revenue bonds. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the award of bid for steel poles and anchor bolts to Valmont Industries, Inc. in the amount <br />of $79,957.00. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
