Lavin, Water Utilities Manager <br />SUBJECT: Date: <br />Approval of Emergency Resolution to Repair <br />Well #5 in the Amount of $11,329 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Well #5 is located north of Mill Street, and provides water to the entire City. Per <br />State Health Department requirements, the Well was scheduled for inspection and <br />repairs this year, during the winter months. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The Well stopped producing water, and during the inspection it was determined that <br />major repairs are required in order to place the Well back in operation. A quote in <br />the amount of $11,329 was obtained from Tri County Equipment and Repair. This <br />Well is used continuously during the summer months. In order to meet water <br />production requirements set by the State Health Department, it is imperative to <br />have the Well placed back in service as soon as possible. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />All Well repairs are budgeted in the Water Division's operations and maintenance <br />budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the attached Emergency Resolution for the <br />Repairs to Well #5, and approve Tri County Equipment and Repair to perform the <br />repairs in the amount of $11,329. <br />LJ/fj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE: <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of__ Item No. /0- <br />
