Lavin, Water Utilities Manager <br />SUBJECT: Date: <br />Approval of Montgomery Watson as Consulting <br />Engineers to Design the Backup Generator for the <br />Domecq Pump Station <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The State Health Department is requiring the City to install a backup generator for <br />emergencies. The Domecq Pump Station has been selected, and approved by the <br />Health Department for the location of the backup generator. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Attached is an Engineering Services Proposal from Montgomery Watson. <br />Montgomery Watson was selected by staff as the consulting engineer based on <br />their experience in designing the City's telemetry system, which will need to be tied <br />into the backup generator to continue electronic operation of the water system <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The engineering services and backup generator were included in the FY93-94 <br />budget. The engineering services will be provided at a cost of $29,250.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the selection of Montgomery Watson as <br />the consulting engineers to design the backup generator for the Domecq Pump <br />Station in the amount of $29,250.00. <br />LJ/Ij <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENC <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of---- Item No.— /10 - <br />
