126 <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, <br />the Claim of John R. Sachs versus the City of Colton was rejected. <br />Claim: Southern California Gas Company vs. the City of Colton. <br />City Attorney Hutton stated that he has reviewed the Claim as submitted by the Southern <br />California Gas Company, involving damage to a gas main, and he would suggest that this <br />Claim be referred to our insurance carrier. <br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, the <br />Claim of Southern California Gas Company versus the City of Colton was referred to the City's <br />insurance carrier. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Walter Richardson, 1241 Highland Avenue, Colton, addressed the City Council on the <br />matter of the City's expenditure of funds and stated he felt the City should be doing more <br />for its tax payers. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:30 p.m., on the request of City <br />Attorney Hutton. <br />The City Council reconvened at 9:06 p.m., all members.present.. <br />Commission Appointments. <br />Mayor Huntoon said that he would ask for Council's concurrence on the following appointments <br />to the Planning Commission: Mr. Armando Saenz and Mr. Pete B. Ramos. <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, <br />Council approved Mayor Huntoon's appointments of Mr. Armando Saenz and Mr. Pete B. Ramos to <br />the Planning Commission. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />With no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Council- <br />man Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the <br />meeting at 9:08 p.m., to meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Monday, December 9, 1974, <br />at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall. <br />Approved this <br />day of <br />_ zh,kC �l <br />- )6�� <br />HELEN A RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />, 1974. <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />December 9, 1974 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting <br />Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p.m., in <br />Room of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />of the City <br />the Conference <br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also <br />present were City Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Hutton, City Clerk Ramos, Assistant to the <br />City Manager Randy Johnsen, and Director of Community Services Earl Young. <br />Trinity Water Company. <br />City Attorney Hutton stated the purpose of the Adjourned Regular Meeting this evening is to <br />bring the City Council up to date on the status between the Trinity Mutual Water Company and <br />the City of Colton, since the inception of a water problem in September, 1974, to the present <br />date. <br />Mr. Hutton said the parties involved in this matter include Mr. Harry V. Roquet and family, <br />owners of the water company, the Trinity Water Company, a California Corporation functioning <br />as a mutual water company, the Environmental Improvement Agency of the County, and the City <br />of Colton. <br />Mr. Hutton discussed the distribution system and property rights, which includes a 210,000 <br />gallon steel storage reservoir, which is owned mainly by Mr. Harry V. Roquet and family. <br />Mr. Hutton then reviewed correspondence relating to the water problem that has developed in <br />the Maryknoll area, beginning with a letter from the Environmental Improvement Agency, dated <br />September 18, 1974, to Mr. Harry V. Roquet and the Trinity Water Company requesting voluntary <br />compliance to cease use of the high nitrate well, as the water was unhealthy and not safe <br />for human consumption. <br />DEQ O 1974 <br />
