CD <br />rnco <br />V / <br />111 <br />that had not been expended by the cities under the Park Bond Act, how- <br />ever Colton did submit a request for funds due us - not yet received, <br />so that we would not be included in the list for elimination of funds. <br />To this day, the City has not had word on the request. <br />Building and Safety <br />Council tentatively approved the Building and Safety Budget with <br />$100 deleted in Account 28, $80 deleted in Account 27, complete dele- <br />tion of Account 35 - Demolitions, a reduction in Account 40 to $200 and <br />a reinstatement of Account 23 for car allowance in the amount of $1,800. <br />Library <br />Council tentatively approved the Library Budget as submitted. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimous- <br />ly passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m. to meet <br />for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Wednesday, July 26, 1978, at <br />6:00 p.m. in -the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 650 North <br />La Cadena Drive, Colton, California. <br />HELEN A. City Clerk <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 26, 1978 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor <br />Gonzales presiding. <br />ROT.T. rAT.T.- <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards and City <br />Clerk Ramos. <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES: <br />Electric <br />City Manager Calabrese reported he had received a telephone call from <br />Mr. Jerry Jordon, Executive Director of CMUA, informing the City that <br />Assemblyman Terry Goggin would be presenting his Life Line Bill before <br />the Legislature on August 8, 1978. Mr. Calabrese stated Mr. Jordon <br />would like to know if the Council wishes him to oppose this bill. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to instruct <br />the City Manager to write a letter to Mr. Jerry Jordon requesting that <br />he oppose the Life Line Bill based on loss of local control over our <br />municipally -owned electric utility, additionally, the Council asked <br />that Mr. Jordon be informed the Council is not against a life line, <br />simply against a state mandated directive for one county one city <br />owned utility. Unanimous vote. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked that Staff review the City's position on our Life <br />Line rates after budget session. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Recreation <br />Mayor Gonzales read a memorandum from himself to the Council in which <br />he relayed a request of Sarah Cuen and Sophie Cadena, for use of a <br />school bus through the City for the purpose of taking a group of <br />students on a trip to the beach. <br />Discussion followed on the unusual condition of the request. <br />JUL 2 tU 1978 <br />
