288 <br />Mr. Abril replied no, and the people participating in the project are <br />all volunteers and are willing -to do anything necessary -to make it <br />successful. Mr. Abril said he is sure everyone will work hard at <br />maintaining centers. <br />Mr. Abril and Mr. Lofy said there has been a tremendous response to <br />this project, -the community has selected Mr. Joe Acosta to work with <br />-them as their leader in -the northern section and Mr. Oscar Ramirez <br />will work in -the southern section. Mr. Abril said the project will <br />encompass the entire community even though Luque Center will be home <br />base for convenience and practical purposes of storage facilities. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales -to approve the <br />proposal submitted by -the Veterans Memorial Committee for use of <br />Revenue Sharing Funds in the amount of $32,000. Unanimous vote. <br />Library <br />City Librarian Martine Hornburg requested an increase in the hourly <br />wage of -the Library Page positions. Discussion followed. Council <br />consensus was to increase -the hourly wage to $2.90. <br />City Librarian Hornburg requested an increase in the Travel & Meetings <br />Account to allow the Library Board to attend various conferences. Ms. <br />Hornburg also requested an increase to $I,500 from $I,000 in the Office <br />Supplies & Postage Account, and -the sum of $1,180 for Vehicle Allowance. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Temby to -tentatively <br />approve the Library Budget with -the amendments requested. Unanimous vote. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business -to come before the Council at this time, <br />Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:25 p.m. on motion of Councilman <br />Hayes, seconded by Councilman Temby and unanimously passed, to meet <br />for an Adjourned Council Meeting on Wednesday, August I, I979, at 6:00p.m., <br />in -the Council Chambers, 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton. <br />HELEN A.
