COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 21, 1990
A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held
on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding.
Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor
Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Sotelo, City Attorney Edwards,
and City Clerk Ramos.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
Mayor Gonzales stated that Item No..5, award of bid for sale of the
Cooley House, and Item No. 81 construction of water tank at Well 122,
will be removed from the Consent Calendar and discussed separately.
Cooley House
Mr. George Fulp, 1497 Cindee Lane, asked who was the original donor of
the Cooley House and original declared value; how much has the City
spent on this House; the list of bidders on this House; and the City's
Ordinance that allows the City to sell a donated asset.
Community Development Director Aguilera stated the Cooley House was
given to the City in exchange for allowing development to occur on
that property. The site where the house is now sitting is to be
used for a future fire station. To move the Cooley House to downtown
Colton would be extremely costly. The City has spent no monies on
property rental and there are no restrictions. The City did advertise
for bids on the Cooley House, however, only one bid was received. Mr.
Aguilera concluded he did not know how much money the City has spent
to date on the Cooley House, however, the City's Finance Department
may have some figures on this.
Water Tank/Well 122
The following residents spoke to the City Council regarding their water
problems, water pressure, etc., and requested that the City do some-
thing to alleviate these problems as soon as possible and approve the
construction of a water tank at Well 122:
Karen Sanchez, 1048 Torrey Pines Drive
Barbara Culbertson, 1948 Pepper Tree Lane
Sandy Campbell, 1966 Pepper Tree Lane
(1) Minutes
August 7, 1990 (Special and Regular Meetings)
AUG 2 110
1
