<br />The Board of Trustees of the Cit;* of Colton do ordain as follows:-

<br />Section II. No person, firr:i or corporation shall_ ecj. ip any build
<br />ing with wiring or appay-atLus cr moke any alteration of, change in, or
<br />addition to an,! electric -.,viring, or apparatus without first notifying
<br />-the city electrician, and receiving from him a permit to do the work;
<br />and when Eoi aq ipment is found to conform to the riAles and reg Alations
<br />adopted herein, t'^e city electrician shall is size a certificate that the
<br />terms of t'^is ordinance have been complied with, but nc s1Ach ecrt' ficate
<br />shall be ;_-ranted un til the equipment is rade to conform to the rules pre-

<br />same until a certii'icate has been furnished, in accordance with the terms
<br />of this orda_za,mrce. The i�rovisions of this ordinance do not apply to cen-
<br />tral stations.
<br />Section III. The rules and re;v.lat ions of the rational Board of
<br />Fier: Underwriters as embodied in their electrical code are hereby adopted
<br />as the r•.:les and regulations of the electric light departr.ent of the City
<br />of Colton with the additional rules and r•cg_.lat:ions as --mayfrom time to
<br />time be required -n.-,,r tr,e electric light department of the Ci of Colton.
<br />SectionIV. VvIlen upon applic ,'J on inspection is made of the wiring
<br />or egi_;ipment in or about any building in this City, the person, firm or
<br />co.gAoration in stallin�r such egl.--iprrent s' -all, before a certificate is
<br />issued, pa,, to the Cit electrician for such inspection the fee of ten
<br />cents each for the first five outlets, meter loop and tablet board not
<br />included, five cents for the next five outlets, and t•,,vo and a half cents
<br />each for every additional outlet in the ar_ie b-.:ilding.
<br />Motors. Each electric motor of one fourth H.P. or over shall be
<br />inspected oneV-a year, for which insi•ection, the E Ume' fee for cri sinal
<br />installation shall be charged. For inspection of electrical apparatus, f
<br />for v0lich no fee is herein prescribed, he eitAT electrician may charge
<br />a fee not exceeding seven t; five cents per hour for time actually consun-
<br />ed in AW makint, the inspection, all such. fees shall be by said elec-
<br />trician paid to the electric light department as soon as collected.
<br />Section V. Any person, firm or corporation who shall do or attempt
<br />to do electrid&l constructicf, cork, whether original or alterations, wi�rl-
<br />ol tfirst obtaining a permit to do such work; shall upon conviction
<br />-thereof be punishaule by a fine in the surq of not less ;flan twenty five
<br />dolLrrs ��or -.ore than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the City
<br />jail for a period not exceeding; fifty days, or by both such fine and im-
<br />priso gent for each offense. Any pe son, fIrni or cc:rpor:.tion who shall
<br />violate any of the provisions of zllri.9 or0inance for which a penalc,,
<br />is not herein otherwise provided and an.�, occupant or owner of premises

<br />prevent, or interfere with an;, inspector in the discharge of his duty
