R-11-09 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF FIVE APPLICATIONS FOR THE <br />TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE 3 GRANT PROGRAM, <br />FY 2008-2009. <br />WHEREAS, Article 3 of the Transportation Development Act (TDA) <br />authorizes the submission of applications to a regional transportation planning agency <br />for the funding of projects exclusively for the benefit and/or use of pedestrians and <br />bicyclists; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), as the <br />regional transportation planning agency for the San Bernardino County, issues a Call <br />for Projects for "Transportation development Act, Article 3, Pedestrian and Bicycle <br />Facilities" from local governmental agencies on an biennial basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is dedicated to improving <br />the street infrastructure and desires to submit a request to SANBAG for the allocation <br />of TDA Article 3 funds to support projects which are for the exclusive benefit and/or <br />use of pedestrians and/or bicyclists; <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS that the City <br />Council of the City of Colton hereby; <br />1. Approves the filing of five applications for the TDA Article 3 Grant <br />Program for grant assistance. <br />2. Appoints Daryl Parrish, City Manager, as agent of the City of Colton to conduct <br />all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, <br />agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the <br />completion of the aforementioned projects. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 17th DAY OF FEBRUARY <br />2009. <br />ATTEST: <br />EILEEN C.
