R-08-14 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-14 TO APPROPRIATE <br />ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENTS FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE WEST SUBSTATION <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Electric Department does not have sufficient infrastructure in <br />place to serve future development in the southwest portion of the City, specifically the Agua <br />Mansa Industrial Corridor and the Pellisier Ranch areas; and <br />WHEREAS, future development and economic growth in the City is dependent on the <br />Electric Department's ability to provide electric service to the southwest portion of the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, construction of the new West Substation will provide the necessary <br />infrastructure to serve future development in the southwest portion of the City and to improve <br />system reliability; and <br />WHEREAS, the budget for fiscal year 2013-14 has been approved by City Council, <br />with $1,200,000 appropriated in the Electric Substation Capital Improvement Budget for the <br />design work and purchase of equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Electric Department Substation Capital Improvement Budget must <br />now be amended to increase the appropriation by $4,163,130, for the completion of the new <br />West Substation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve the <br />following: <br />Section 1. The City Council hereby amends the Fiscal Year 2013-14 budget <br />appropriation as follows: <br />Increase expenditure account number 520-8000-8003-3890-0107-000 by 4,163,130. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21 st day of January 2014. <br />SARAN S.
