R-26-11 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR <br />COMMENCING JULY 1, 2010 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2011, <br />ABOLISHING POSITIONS AND REAFFIRMING CITY COMMITMENT <br />TO THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES AND TO PROTESTING <br />ABOLISHMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT AND AUTHORIZING STAFF <br />TO PURSUE THE SAME. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton adopted a budget for the fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton conducts regular reviews of its budget as it is <br />fiscally prudent to do so; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon the latest review the City desires to amend the budget. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: <br />SECTION 1. The revised budgetary projections reflected on Attachments A, B, C <br />and D attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, are hereby approved. <br />SECTION 2. The recommended adjustments to the budget as summarized on <br />Attachments C and D, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, are hereby <br />approved. <br />SECTION 3. Pursuant to the City Manager's recommendation, effective May 1, <br />2011 Council hereby: (1) abolishes the positions of the eight police officers who were <br />notified on March 3, 2011 of their pending layoffs; and (2) abolishes the following 5 vacant <br />positions: 1 vacant police officer position; 1 vacant police lieutenant position; 1 vacant code <br />enforcement officer position; 1 vacant information services manager position; and 1 vacant <br />assistant public works director position. <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />C <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />RESOLUTION NO.
