1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-05-14 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING SECTION 10.04.130 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br />RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS ON CITY STREETS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton (City) desires to improve the safety <br />of the streets and traffic circulation within City jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, the City needs to modify the posted speed limits for Cooley Drive from East <br />Cooley Lane to Washington Street, Hunts Lane from West Redlands Boulevard to Washington <br />Street, and Pepper Avenue from Randall Avenue to West Valley Boulevard to provide a safe <br />alternative truck route ; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 Section 10.04.130 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in <br />its entirety as follows: <br />Section 16.1 of Article XV adopted - <br />Speed limits designated. <br />There is adopted a section to be numbered Section 16.a. Article XV. <br />Section 16.a. Increasing State Speed Limit in Certain Zones. It is hereby determined upon <br />the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed limit permitted by State Law <br />upon the following streets is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by <br />reason of the designation and sign -posting of said streets as through highways and/or by <br />reason of widely spaced intersections and it is hereby declared that the prima-facie speed limit <br />shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs <br />are erected giving notice thereof: <br />
