CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR�I�-� <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE CITY HALL HVAC SYSTEM <br />RENOVATION, PHASE I, TO ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL, INC. <br />IN THE AMOUNT $92,293.00. <br />DATE: JULY 10, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The HVAC system at City Hall is in need of renovation. Many areas are not adequately cooled. To correct the <br />situation, the Utility Department contracted with Leonard Engineering to design a new HVAC system and to <br />provide specifications and drawings to obtain bids for the City Hall HVAC Renovation, Phase I—Mechanical <br />Construction. <br />DISC U SS IONIANALYS IS: <br />On June 8, 2000, The Utility Department solicited for bids for the City Hall HVAC System Renovation, Phase I. <br />Three prospective bidders attended the Pre-Bid Meeting and Job-Walk at 10:00 A.M., June 22, 2000. Bid opening <br />was held in the Corporate Yard Conference Room on July 6, 2000, at 10:00 A.M. Two bids were received and <br />evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing the prices quoted by each bidder. Both bidders meet the specifications and <br />are qualified to perform the HVAC renovation work. The recommended bidder's price is underlined. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The Utility Department has Public Benefit monies available for this project. Monies are available in Account <br />Number 520-8000-80373890-0107-000. <br />ENVIRONMENTALIMPACT: <br />Renovation of the HVAC system will improve energy efficiency at City Hall. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends award of contract for the City Hall HVAC System Renovation, Phase I, to Arrowhead <br />Mechanical, Inc., in the amount of $92,293.00 <br />Report Prepared by: Rebecca Gallegos, Purchasing Assistant <br />Page 1 of 1(wi[h attachment) Item #18 <br />
