APRIL 1. 199' <br />A. regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 6e58 <br />p.m,, in the Council Chambers of City ball, Mayor Ga ate presiding. <br />ELAQSLLUEa <br />Police Captain Crowe led the assembly in the pledge of Allegiance. <br />Pastor Kim Starr offered the invocation. <br />ROLL <br />Councih-nernbers present were Berniett, Cooly., Chastain, Hutton, Sanders, and Mayor Ciaytan, Also <br />present were City Manager Freeman, City Attorney Biggs, and City Clerk parr era. CYouncilmern.ber <br />Sandoval was absent due to the illness of a family member. <br />Tera Dorman, Colton resident, spore on the issue of fencing around the park, located in his district, <br />which encloses the school adoinin the p�arhich results in. the parr area beim closed and not <br />available for public use after school hours.. :mayor aytan. referred this matter to staff to see what <br />alternative solutions areavailable. <br />Bill Mahn, Colton resident, inquired as to the payment made to the city- by K Mart and stated the Utility. <br />Tax is illegal and should be repealed. <br />Jean Hart, Colton resident, spoke in reference to Rev. Stere Anderson: Is a minister allowed to be a <br />politician, referring to the newspaper advertisement which lists Rev. Anderson as the contact person., <br />and inquired as to Rev. Anderson's Coalition Group and are these activities legal. Vis, Hart asked about <br />Item 27, if this increase is approved will there be a discount for senior citizens. <br />Fred Cordova, Colton resident, xknowledged Council and 'Tarornina for seeing that the alley behind his <br />residence was cleaned up. <br />:lien n^m.sby, Colton resident, spoke against Item. '2and stated it was not right for the Police <br />Department or Fire Department to wait until Council approves a travel request. <br />Stere ,Anderson, Colton resident, spoke regarding the following. The need for pay raises for the :police <br />Department; Item 7, requested if itern is to be pulled to in.forn.-i the public now so they will not have to <br />wait until the item is discussed and thea find out it will be pulled; and read a letter into the record as a <br />result of a nc spaper article in the The Sun regarding the Volunteer Fire Progran , <br />1 <br />
