ADJOURNED REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />JOINED WITH THE UTILITIES COMMISSION <br />January 22, 2002 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Joint Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton and the Utilities Commission of the City of Colton was held on the <br />above given date at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Bennett and Chairperson <br />Jackson presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Chairperson Jackson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL: <br />Councilmembers present were DeLaRosa, Chastain, Ramos, Mitchell, Zamora, and Mayor Bennett. <br />Also present were City Manager Parrish, City Attorney Derleth, and City Clerk Barrera. <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION ROLL CALL: <br />Commissioners present were Perez III, Morua, Archuleta, and Chairperson Jackson. Absent were <br />Commissioners Wright and Bryant. <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST ISSUES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL AND UTILITIES <br />COMMISSION MEETING OF JANUARY 22, 2002 <br />Mayor Bennett asked Councilmembers and the Utilities Commissioners present if there were any <br />agenda items that were in Conflict of Interest pursuant to CMC §2.04.030. No disclosures made. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following Citizen addressed the City Council and the Utilities Commission: Michael Hannon. <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />Authorize the Electric Utility to Prepare and Distribute a Request for Proposal for Generation <br />Capacity of 49.9 megaWatts — Colton Jets Project <br />Tom Clarke, Utilities Director, presented a Power Point presentation for Councilmembers and <br />Commissioners entitled "Generation Option" to enable in the decision of whether to build generation <br />to solve long-term problems referred to as the Colton Jets Project. <br />Discussion and questions by Council and Commissioners were presented to staff and Director Clarke, <br />City Manager Parrish, and City Treasurer Williams provided appropriate responses. <br />Chairperson Jackson made his closing statements to state that the Commission had studied the option <br />of the Colton Jets Project for over a year and reaffirmed that the Utilities Commission had approved <br />
