HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE' <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF MAINTENANCE WORKER <br />I, IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, STREET DIVISION. <br />DATE: JANUARY 2, 2001 <br />BACKGROUND: Currently there is a vacant Maintenance Worker II position. We however, <br />would like to underfill this position with a Maintenance Worker I. Attached is the job description for <br />the classification; the salary range is $1,992 - $ 2,422 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: This position (Maintenance Worker 11) became vacant when this <br />employee was promoted to Maintenance Worker III. The candidate being referred for Council <br />ratification will meet all the requirements as specified in the job description. This position will be <br />an open recruitment. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: NONE <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: This is an approved general fund position in the Fiscal Year 2000-2001 <br />budget.
