Garcia, City Manage i <br />FROM: Randy Heusterberg, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratificaffioif employee a0ointments to the full time <br />position of Police Captain in the Police Ddpartment <br />DATE: March 21, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND: There is currently one Police Captain vacancy in the Police Department. Attached <br />is the job description for the classification as approved by council on February 17, 1998: salary range <br />is $5,769 to 7,013 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding is available in the general fund for fiscal year 2000/2001 budget. <br />Account No. 100-6070-6072-1010 (salary). <br />Randy H s rberg, Chief of Por <br />MISSION CRITICAL: The Captain position was vacated with the appointment of Randy <br />Heusterberg to Chief of Police.
