1 RESOLUTION NO, 2419 <br /> 2 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br /> A PLANNING GRANT <br /> 3 <br /> 4 WHEREAS, Chapter 1. 5, Division 20 of the California Education Code <br /> 5 (Section 2711 - 27147) provides for a program of grants to public libraries, <br /> 6 and <br /> 7 WHEREAS, planning grants are provided in the Public Library <br /> 8 Development Act for the purpose of establishing improved and extended <br /> 9 library service through cooperative planning, <br /> 10 NOW,, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br /> 11 City of Colton does hereby authorize the Colton Public Library Board to <br /> 12 apply for a planning grant for $2000 on behalf of itself and the City of Colton <br /> 13 for the purpose of cooperative planning in accordance with Chapter 1.5, <br /> 14 Division 20 of the Education Code and Title 5, Chapter 2 of the California <br /> 151 Administrative Code, Title 5, Chapter 2. <br /> 16 PASSED*.
