1 RESOLUTION NO, 2549 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLTON DECLARING WEEDS GROWINC UPON THE STREETS 3 OR SIDEWALKS OR UPON PRIVATE PROPERTY AND RUBBISH, REFUSE OR DIRT UPON PARKWAYS, 4 SIDEWALKS OR PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND 5 PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTIONS 39560, 39561, 39561. 5, 6 39562, 39563, 39564, 39565, 39566, 39567, 39567. 1, ALSO 39568-39586 CHAPTER 13, ARTICLE 3, TITLE 4, 7 DIVISION 3 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. 8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton has been informed 9 that there are growing upon the streets and sidewalks and private property 10 within said City many weeds which have seeds of a wingy or downy nature or 11 have attained such growth as to become a fire menance or which are other- 12 13 wise noxious or dangerous and there is also existing on certain parkways, sidewalks and property within the City certain rubbish, refuse and dirt in- 14 15 cluding dry grass, stubble, brush, litter or other flammable material which endangers the public safety by creating a fire hazard, and 16 17 WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that same should be de- clared a public nuisance and should be abated in accordance with provisions 18 of the Weed Abatement Law (Chapter 13, Title 4, Division 3, Government 19 Code and amendments thereto) of the State of California, and 20 WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent has prepared a report properly 21 describing the property upon which the condition exists. 22 23 NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton as follows: 24 1. That the City Council does hereby find, determine and declare 25 26 that there are growing upon the streets and sidewalks and private property 27 within said city many weeds which have seeds of a wingy or downy nature or have 28 attained such growth as to become a fire menance or which are otherwise 29 noxious or dangerous and that there is also existing on certain parkways, sidewalks, and property within the City certain rubbish, refuse and dirt 30 31 including dry grass, stubble, brush, litter or otherwise flammable material 32 which endangers the public safety by creating a fire hazard.
