CITY OF COLTON Item #6 <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF October 15, 2002 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Tom Clarke, Electric Utility Director --00_--**' <br />SUBJECT: Request recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the full <br />time position of Line Crew Supervisor for the Transmission/Distribution <br />Division of the Colton Public Utility <br />DATE: September 25, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Utility currently has a budgeted vacant position of Line Crew Supervisor. This <br />position was recently vacated and we are requesting to fill this vacant position. <br />DIS CUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The department needs to fill this position as it is a supervisory position responsible for the daily <br />activities of a Line Crew. The demand for service is continuous; there is a need to fill the position <br />to maintain steady reliable service. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The existing, vacated position is budgeted for in the FY 2002/2003 budget in Account No. 520- <br />8000-8004-1010-0580-000 Salaries Miscellaneous. <br />ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the employee <br />appointment to the full time position. <br />PREPARED BY: <br />James D.
